On July 23, we took Patriot down to Milwaukee to see the Air and Water show. We had several friends onboard including Fred and Kathy and one of my friends, Ester. We picked up everyone up at the South Shore boat landing and then rafted up with other friends at McKinley Marina aboard San Souici, a 32 foot long pilothouse ketch.
The show was amazing and below are a few pictures I was lucky enough to be able to catch. The last part of the show was the Blue Angels, as always, were impressive with their precision.
We knew there would be some storms coming through later that night, so after the show, we dropped off our passengers and headed home. Unfortunatly, the storms came though early and we got caught about an hour outside of Port Washington with 40 mile an hour winds, 3-4 foot waves and LOTS of lightning. However we powered through and Patriot being the stout vessel she is didn't even bat an eye. Even better, Christine didn't even bat an eye. She has come a LONG way in trusting the boat and even more important, her captain when it gets dicey out.
Here is the Nebo log of our voyage, once again, Nebo has proven itself to be an awesome tool for documenting our trips. 57 days until we throw Patriot's lines for our Great Loop adventure.
